Jeff DeanKeeping Chicago's reputation of post-punk legitimacy and calculated style alive and well, FOUR STAR ALARM's debut E.P. release is one for both the jaded elders and thirsting young bucks. Combining innovative vocal soars and tearing guitar work with the timeless influence of classic indie inclined punk acts such as Swervedriver, Samiam, Seaweed, and Jawbreaker, Four Star Alarm craft a sound that spans genres and baits an array of avid listeners.

The band is the brainchild of guitarist Jeff Dean (ex THE STORY SO FAR and current THE BOMB member, a band featuring Jeff Pezzati of Punk legends NAKED RAYGUN), who set out to create music that would matter again; to some extent, seeking to rekindle the punk fervor that often withers with you. Once the ideas were in place, Jeff recruited Derek Grant (ALKALINE TRIO) to start recording demo's. When the demo's were completed, Dean decided that the endeavor needed to be a full time band, and not just a project.

After performing and touring for the past year with a solid line up consisting of vocalist Ted Moss, drummer Mike Horick and bassist Greg Mytych(THE REPUTATION,HORACE PINKER), FOUR STAR ALRM once again finds itself in the midst of a line up change. With Horick leaving to pursue a full-time studio position on the west coast, FSA was fortunate enough to acquire the drumming talents of Strike Anywhere's Eric Kane who relocated to Chicago from Richmond, VA, this past summer. Although Strike Anywhere is still a band, Kane's decision to pull double duty and join FOUR STAR ALARM came about after his move, but it was set in motion for the same reasons that the band came together in the first place, a desire to play melodic, intelligent punk rock akin to the bands that where there making it happen during pivotal points in their lives.

Crisp, powerhouse vocals, raw and often angular guitar tactics, and a driving rhythm section provide the foundation for FOUR STAR ALARM's inner workings. Combined with a live show that could quite possibly melt your face off, FSA bring an urgency that can only be diffused by blazing through a ten song set as if they would perish if not able to get the notes out.

FOUR STAR ALARM'S debut EP was released on Thick Records in 2006. In Support of this release the band has begun touring relentlessly in the U.S. (opening for such bands as the recently reunited Naked Raygun, Lifetime,The Smoking Popes, Billy Talent, Smoke or Fire, the Draft, and The Methadones) and has set its sights on international ventures while also feverishly writing material for their full length album. If you're not in the know, you're missing out. Consider yourself informed.
